POD FACTS Coffee Pods are a single-serve coffee brewing format that sandwiches freshly ground coffee between filter paper in a small round shape.  Most pods are the standard flat-top 62mm size and shape that is compatible with most pod brewers in the marketplace.  A few manufacturers produce a 55mm symmetrical pod that can be more challenging to use in a Senseo.  A complete list of tested pod brewers is shown below.  A few models require minor adjustments for a proper fit and better brew results.  Not for use in the Tassimo. Can be used in Keurig Brewers with a Pod Holster Adapter. Pod Stats - How do they measure up? Pod Diameters: 55mm-62mm Pod Shapes: Flat-Top or Symmetrical Pod Sizes: 9-11 grams Unlike the smaller Senseo pods, a single pod will make one 8 oz. cup of coffee.  When using your pod brewer, place a single pod in the tray, flat side up, and set your brew volume for 8 oz.  If your Pod Brewer allows you to adjust the drop size, you can always adjust for more or less water depending on your preferences.  If using a Senseo, always use the single pod tray. Each pod is individually wrapped and nitrogen flushed to maintain freshness.  We guarantee the freshness of our coffees and we’ll never sell pods that are expired unless specifically listed in our clearance section. Pod Freshness - How do I know my pods are fresh? Roast Date vs. Best-By Date vs. No Date Each vendor's pods are all individually wrapped, nitrogen flushed and guaranteed fresh for 12 months after packaging. - Our Coffee Artisan brand pods are stamped with the roast date as opposed to an expiration date.  The date stamped on the pod wrapper is the date the coffee was roasted and packed into pods, not an expiration or "Best-By" date. - Fratello pods are also roast dated and that date is stamped into the top edge of the pod wrapper. - Reunion Island pods are roast dated using a special code.  This code works as follows: PI4071316 Packaging machine 4, PI4071316 7th week of the year, PI4071316 13th day of the month, PI4071316 16th hour of the day. - Cafejo and Black Mountain Gold do not date their pods so we use an internal system to record the date they were shipped to us in order to be sure we are not selling old pods.
